trident vitality

So, on Friday, I found a little care package in my mailbox from Glamour. It was a box full of Trident‘s new Vitality gum… to chew, review and share. So, that’s exactly what I did :)

Trident Vitality comes in three flavors, Awaken (Peppermint with a touch of Ginseng), Rejuve (Mint with White Tea) and Vigorate (Citrus with Strawberry and Vitamin C). I was impressed with the unique flavor combinations – which, by the way – seemed to last forever.

Out of the three, my favorite, hands down, is Rejuve. I’m really big on white tea and the flavor was minty enough to freshen my breath.

Vigorate is sweet and fruity – a good “dessert” gum.

Awaken, I felt, was the strongest of the three, and is great for peppermint lovers (something I’m not).

I plan to enjoy what’s left of my package, and will definitely be buying some once the gum is released nationwide in just a few weeks.

thierry mugler 2011 feat lady gaga

Paris-based fashion house, Thierry Mugler has tapped Lady Gaga’s stylist, Nicola Formichetti, as the new creative director for their ready-to-wear lines. For Mugler’s 2011 Winter Menswear campaign, the Lady remixed an unreleased song from her upcoming album, (due out in May) which debuted on the 19th at the anticipated show during Men’s Fashion Week.

The video was shot specifically for the show and directed by fashion photographer, Mariano Vivanco. Featured, is famous Canadian model, “Zombie Boy”, Rick Genest.

I, for one, like the dark aesthetic of the campaign. True to Mugler style, it’s extravagant, emotional and a bit wondrous.

bottoms up!

So tonight, Wells Fargo Center in Philly is debuting probably one of the coolest things I have ever seen… as far as pouring a beer is concerned. For my many years as a bartender, I’ve never witnessed such a novel innovation… and everyone at the Flyers game tonight will be the first to experience it. The GrinOn Beer Dispenser can fill up to 44 pints a minute (or 56, if there’s more than one person using the machine) and it does so with minimal head. This makes for some very efficient bartending, not to mention it’s very resourceful – less head, means more beer – about 25% more per keg.

If you’re wondering how exactly the machine works, it’s through the use of magnets. The plastic cups have a floppy, refrigerator-type magnet in the bottom which sticks itself to a donut shaped frame around a filling-hole. The cups are disposable, but the magnet at the bottom does lend itself as a wonderful ad spot for branding, as not only will it be noticed every time the drinker takes a sip, but also because it can be taken home, and slapped up somewhere to be seen again and again.

the darling darjeeling

So I finally watched The Darjeeling Limited… (I know, I know… only 3 years late). But, I loved it. So much so, I’ve watched it three times.

Wes Anderson manages to instill some sort of magic or something to his films, and it’s an incredible thing to watch. The cast was pretty sweet, too – Bill Murray, Natalie Portman, Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman and one of my secret crushes, Adrien Brody.

There are two things I want to share about this movie. First, the luggage! Sooo cool. Of course it’s awesome – the 11 piece set was designed by Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton and was later auctioned off to raise money for UNICEF… making it that much cooler.

And last, but definitely not least… is Peter Sarstedt’s “Where do you go to my lovely?”

The song holds a special memory for me, but it’s endlessly romantic sound would capture my attention anyway. I just adore its vintage appeal, soft melody and his little “aha ha ha”.

Take a listen…

sound never looked so good

It’s amazing how powerful sound can be. We’ve all heard something that has touched our heart – a line from a song, our child’s first word, a loved one’s sweet nothings… maybe even the voice mail from a friend who is no longer with us.

Whatever it may be, imagine if you could immortalize it, as art? That’s exactly what Voice Prints has done, in a very modern and chic way… and I want one!

The prints can be made from almost any sound (not necessarily only spoken words) that you upload to the site. You can choose from 30 color options, and any size print (or stretched canvas) ranging from 8.5″x11″ to 36″x48″, which will run you anywhere from $59 to $459.

Really the possibilities are endless, and it has to be one of the coolest ways to see what you’ve only been able to hear… until now.

new obsession

During the Golden Globes last night, a Chrysler commercial came on and I was immediately obsessed with the music in the background. After doing some research, I found not only the song, but the composer.

His goes by J. Ralph. He’s a New York native, a self taught composer with no formal training. According to his bio, he cannot read or write a note… which is astonishing, considering his impressive resume, which you can read about at IMDb.

In the meantime… take a listen…

beautiful #13

I feel the strong urge to share with everyone how much I adore the dress olivia wilde wore tonight at the Golden Globes.

Just another reason to love Marchesa.

diggin the nails

So I stopped in CVS today (my main supplier for my polish addiction) and was super excited to see Sally Hansen‘s new Salon Effects nail polish strips. Until now, I haven’t had a local spot to get my hands on some intricate, dope designs for my nails. In short, they’re decals you can fit to the size of your nail with the help of a cuticle stick, nail file and a little patience, and in a few minutes… awesomeness that lasts “up to ten days”.

(the black lace is my personal fav)

You can find more options of nail wraps at Nail Rock, or OPI chic prints at Sephora.
